Executive Wireless is celebrating its 20th year in business in 2010. What started as one person selling and installing phones has expanded into an eight store operation headquartered in Severna Park. They currently have stores in Annapolis, Columbia, Crofton, Edgewater, Elkridge, Glen Burnie, Severna Park, and Pasadena. Executive Wireless is a full service Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer offering activations, upgrades, competitor conversions, customer service and Verizon Wireless bill payment. They have won many awards from Verizon Wireless including agent of the year. In addition to cellular phones and PDA’s, they also sell accessories for any phone ranging from vehicle chargers to removable memory cards used to store music and photos.
Executive Wireless attempts to impart a positive customer experience with every visit. They believe education is their main strength. By carefully explaining plans and features, they feel a customer will be able to sign up for the proper minute plan for their needs. Every sales associate is thoroughly trained before they ever speak to a customer and must attend monthly training seminars to keep abreast of new features and technology.
The company started as a home based business in 1990 in Severna Park selling and installing car phones under the name Executive Cellular. In 1995, with a slight name change, Executive Cellular & Paging opened their first retail store on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard to capitalize on the explosive growth in the paging industry. Dan Schaeffer, current President and sole owner, began working for the company in 1995 to organize and expand operations. In 1996, Executive Cellular & Paging incorporated under their new trading name Executive Wireless Inc. The name was changed to better encompass the many wireless products they were selling. The same year, they moved their Severna Park location out to Ritchie Hwy. In January 2007, Executive Wireless moved their longtime Severna Park location from above Clements Hardware store across the street and is now located a few doors down from the Donut Shack.
